These I drew during an outing with teacher Linda at Scott's Nursery. I often turn my drawings into stencils that I can transfer onto pots.

Process for stencils making.

This is an example of how I make my stencils. Here I started with a piece from one of my paintings. I copied the design onto a piece of tracing paper, then photocopied to make different sizes, copied it again onto new tracing paper, cut it out, and, finally I can use the stencil onto my work.

Trying different ideas.

Here is a small part of a painting I made using water colours, black ink, coloured pencils and pure colour pigments. I was using these brush marks on a few pots, however the final outcome was not really to my satisfaction (piece to the right). I also have tryed carving this patern onto my work as well, some people seem to have liked it, however I can not say the same for myself.

Decorative platters.

These are low-fired pieces I made more for show, because they do not have a fully glazed surface, it would not be ideal to use them for food purpaces. They were displayed in a group show in the gallery at school.

Tile piece.

This piece is what directed me into carving botanical imagery onto my work. If it was not for my teacher Nancy asking us to come up with a botanical theme that day, my work would look very different today. I absolutly loved tile class and continue to make tiles today. Sold.
